When the orthognathic surgery is required? This is the lecture of Oral&Maxillofacial Surgeon Dainius Razukevicius (Kaunas Implantology Center) in the conference held by Lithuanian Chamber of Dentists in Alytus on 23 Aug, 2018.
Orthognathic surgery is the operation of jaws with a purpose of new position for one or both jaws by securing correct interrelation of maxilla and mandible. Also a correct occlusion with the help of orthodontic treatment is reached.
It is important to note that orthognathic surgery is applied only when the situation cannot be amended with the help of braces.
